Brad, Brian and Paul introduce themselves and talk about how not to hook up a PV system.
Questions answered in this episode include:
“I connected a small solar module system up and the next day the battery was completely drained. What happened?”
“I got a call to look at an older system and when I look at the production it drops off substantially in the middle of the day. Is there something wrong with the modules?”
“I connected up a system and it won’t turn on. When I turn off the array breaker the voltage from the array is over 160 V. When I turn on the array breaker the voltage falls to near 0. When I turn off the combiner breakers there is still about 35 V on the array circuit positive to ground. The Ground Fault Breaker is not tripping. What’s going on?”
