Sales Tax Exemption Forms

AEE Solar will automatically charge sales tax on orders in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, Washington, D.C., West Virginia and Wyoming.

If you would like your orders to be exempt from sales tax for the state where we are shipping the order, please find the Exemption form for the state or the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form (if applicable or for resellers doing business in multiple states) below and submit the completed form to Customer Service along with your AEE Solar Dealer Account Number.

If you are using the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form to obtain a resale exemption in a particular state, you MUST provide your sales tax registration number for that state on the form next to state as indicated.

Alabama – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. Alabama does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Arizona – Please complete the Arizona Tax Exemption Form for the solar energy equipment exemption or the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. 

Arkansas – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. Arkansas does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

California – Please complete either the California Tax Exemption Form or the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. California does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Colorado – No documentation is required for the solar energy equipment exemption or resale exemption at the state level, but if your county/city imposes sales tax, please send us your Exemption Certificate or Resale Certificate to be sales tax exempt.

Connecticut – Please complete the Connecticut Tax Exemption Form for the solar energy equipment exemption or the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption.

Florida – Please complete the Florida Tax Exemption Form for the solar energy equipment exemption or the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption.

Georgia – Please complete the Georgia Tax Exemption Form for the resale exemption. Georgia does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Hawaii – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. Hawaii does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Idaho – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. Idaho does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Illinois – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. Illinois does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Indiana – Please complete the Indiana Tax Exemption Form for the resale exemption. Indiana does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Kansas – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. Kansas does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Kentucky – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. Kentucky does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Louisiana – If you are registered to collect Louisiana sales tax, please provide your state issued resale certificate. If you do not have a presence in Louisiana, please complete the Louisiana Tax Exemption Form for the resale exemption. Louisiana does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Maine – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. Maine does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Massachusetts – Please complete the Massachusetts Tax Exemption Form for the solar energy equipment exemption or the Massachusetts Resale Certificate Form for the resale exemption.

Michigan – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. Michigan does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Minnesota – Please complete the Minnesota Tax Exemption Form for the solar energy equipment exemption or the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption.

Nebraska – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. Nebraska does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

New Jersey – Please complete the New Jersey Tax Exemption Form for the solar energy equipment exemption or the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption.

New Mexico – Please complete the New Mexico Tax Exemption Form for the solar energy equipment exemption or the New Mexico Non-Taxable Transaction Certificate for resale exemption.

New York – Please complete the New York Tax Exemption Form for the solar energy equipment exemption or the New York Resale Certificate Form for the resale exemption. Although sales of solar energy equipment are exempt from sales tax at the state level, they may be subject to sales tax at the city/county level in these states. Please consult your AEE Solar sales representative for details.

Nevada – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. Nevada does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

North Carolina – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. North Carolina does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Ohio – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. Ohio does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Oklahoma – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. Oklahoma does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Pennsylvania – Please complete the Pennsylvania Tax Exemption Form for the resale exemption. Pennsylvania does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

South Carolina – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. South Carolina does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Tennessee – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. Tennessee does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment

Texas – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. Texas does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Utah – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. Utah does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Vermont – Please complete the Vermont Tax Exemption Form for the solar energy equipment exemption or the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption.

Virginia – Please complete the Virginia Tax Exemption Form  for the resale exemption. Virginia does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Washington – Please complete the Multi-State Jurisdiction Form for the resale exemption. Washington does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

Washington, D.C. – Please complete the Washington D.C. Tax Exemption Form for the resale exemption. Washington, D.C. does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.

West Virginia – Please complete the West Virginia Tax Exemption Form for the resale exemption. West Virginia does not have a sales tax exemption for solar energy equipment.
